Myth: Language learning certification is important.

Fact: While certification and degrees are important, the ability to speak or communicate in a language does not depend on these certificates. While a certificate may look impressive on a resume, the acid test lies in the ability to communicate in that language which does not take very long to discern. No one with a reasonable amount of language knowledge ever evaluates language ability based on a certificate. The test lies in interactive communication, both verbal and written.
